
The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers used an 11-hit performance to take down the Quad Cities River Bandits 9-4 Sunday and win the series.
The Majority of the Timber Rattler’s scoring occurred in the 5th and 6th innings, where 8 runs were scored, but they also notched a security blanket run in the 8th.
The offensive attack for the Rattlers was evenly split, with all but two batters recording a hit, and four notching 2.
Brock Wilken, Hendry Mendez, Ben Metzinger, and Eduardo Fernandez each had two hits, while Fernandez also drove in 4 runs and scored twice himself.
On the mound, Edwin Jiminez picked up the win despite allowing 4 runs on 9 hits while Nick Mercel and Tanner Shears each pitched one inning in relief allowing only 2 more baserunners between them.
The Rattlers took 4 of 6 against the Bandits as the regular season nears its end.
Wisconsin is on the road this week to battle the Beloit Sky Carp in the penultimate series of the regular season.
They will close out against the Cedar Rapids Kernels at home next week.
