The Northwoods League Championship belongs to Titletown.
The Green Bay Rockers battled the St. Cloud Rox last week Friday and were able to hold off a late rally to secure the championship win, their first Northwoods League title in franchise history.
While in St. Cloud, the Rockers pulled ahead 4-0 entering the 7th inning thanks to a balanced attack spread throughout the batting order.
Kendal Ewell, Mateo Matthews, Zane Zielinski, and Sam Polk all drove in runs for the Rockers while Pitcher Brett Sanchez pitched 6 scoreless innings.
Then, he allowed two baserunners on in the 7th without recording an out, and both ended up scoring.
The Rox would remain down 4-2 entering the 9th until a single to right scored a run with 2 outs.
With two runners on and two outs, a flyout to left field ended the threat and secured the win for Green Bay.
In a statement on its website, the organization stated, “The Rockers want to thank all their fans for the continuous support all season long.”
