The second young woman who was found guilty in the Slender Man stabbing case has abandoned her previous plea to be allowed to return home.
Morgan Geyser’s legal team has decided this week to retract their request for her release from the state mental hospital where she has been held since 2017.
According to her attorney, Geyser’s mental health treatment has been showing positive advancements, and they are aiming for her discharge to her home in the upcoming year.
Geyser, who was only 12 years old at the time, along with Anissa Weier, enticed another 12-year-old girl into the woods and inflicted 19 stab wounds upon her.
As a consequence of their actions, both Geyser and Weier were ordered to serve time in a state mental hospital. Weier was permitted to leave the hospital in 2021.
