Foxconn has initiated the sale of its properties in Green Bay and Eau Claire, signaling its abandonment of the concept of establishing regional centers throughout Wisconsin.
Officials in charge of economic development in Green Bay have revealed that the WaterMark building situated on Pine Street in downtown Green Bay is now available for purchase.
Similarly, Foxconn’s Haymarket Landing location in Eau Claire is also on the market.
The initial commitment by Foxconn had involved the establishment of several regional centers across the state, but this endeavor failed to materialize as anticipated.
Additionally, Foxconn’s initial pledge to generate 13,000 job opportunities at its primary facility in Racine County also faced setbacks.
Wisconsin Governor Evers took action to renegotiate the arrangement with Foxconn, resulting in a revised agreement where the company would be incentivized to generate a more modest 1,400 jobs.
