A cautionary alert has been issued regarding counterfeit currency circulating in The Dells region.
Law enforcement officials took to Facebook recently to raise awareness about the presence of fake currency within the vicinity.
The advisory specifically instructed local businesses and eateries to remain vigilant for banknotes featuring the phrases “motion picture” and/or “replica.”
One of the distinguishing features of these counterfeit bills is the absence of a watermark.
Despite the advisory, the Dells’ Police did not disclose any instances of these fraudulent bills being utilized.
