A night after going 4 for 4 at the plate, Kendal Ewell once again played a key role in the Green Bay Rockers’ win over the Madison Mallards.
This time, the Sub-Divisional playoff game was in Green Bay, and the Rockers trailed 4-3 entering the bottom of the 9th innings.
The first two batters would strike out before Sam Polk kept hopes of a sweep alive with a two-strike single to center field.
On the very next pitch, Ewell pelted a ball over the right field fence to give the Rockers a 5-4 walk-off win and a sweep of the series.
Ewell had 3 hits on the night, while Polk had 3 and Cooper Kelly had a pair.
The Rockers will either travel to Kalamazoo or Traverse City for game one of the Great Lakes Championship series tomorrow.
Those teams had their game delayed due to rain last night, which Kalamazoo was leading 14-5 in the 4th inning.
The Growlers are however trailing 1-0 in the series, so the decisive game three, barring a major comeback, will be played tonight at Striker Field in Kalamazoo.
