
The Wisconsin GLO Women’s Basketball team has been named the 2023 GWBA champions.
The GLO took down the Flint Monarchs over the weekend 104-97 to secure the title, their third since 2019. AII-GWBA Team, GWBA MVP Finalist, and Playoff MVP Taylor Wurtz-Purifoy was the GLO’s leading scorer on Sunday with 26 points.
Taylor also led the team in rebounds with 9.
UWGB Alumna Laken James was a GWBA Defensive Player of the Year Finalist and was the GLO’s second-highest scorer on Sunday with 19 points.
Coach Patrick Doherty was a GWBA Coach of the Year Finalist in his first year with the Wisconsin GLO and helped lead the team to their third Championship alongside Assistant Coach Preston Purifoy.
Coach Doherty and Assistant Coach Purifoy had a huge impact on the team, staff, and fans this season.
The GLO organization voiced its appreciation for all of their hard work and dedication to the program.
