A lawsuit has been filed against the City of Sheboygan along with five officials claiming abusive and hostile working conditions.
The suit, filed on behalf of Chad Pelishek, the former Director of Planning and Development for the City, names the City as an entity, along with Mayor Ryan Sorenson, Alders Barbara Felde, Roberta Filicky-Peneski and Amanda Salazar, as defendants as well as the Director of Uptown Social Emily Rendall-Aurajo.
It points specifically to an incident where an unknown individual uttered a racial slur, which Pelishek heard, leading to the creation of a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiative.
The suit claims that the Mayor and mentioned alders fabricated false narratives about Pelishek and forced him to relinquish some of his duties as punishment.
