Hazmat crews in Grand Chute were activated yesterday after hotel workers improperly mixed chemicals for the pool.
The Grand Chute and Appleton Fire Departments were called to the hotel on Federated Way just after 5:15 p.m. on a report of a hazmat situation.
When they arrived, the crews learned that one of the hotel employees had mixed the chemicals improperly leading to them needing to be evaluated.
The unnamed individual was taken to a local hospital for further testing.
Their status is not clear at this time.
The scene was cleared by 7:00 p.m., and the hotel was reopened.
