A judge in Chippewa County will begin the process to decide if the now-15-year-old boy accused of killing then raping a 10-year-old girl last year will be tried as an adult.
The case is being heard today in Chippewa Falls.
The hearing is about a request to return the case to juvenile court even though the teen has already been charged as an adult.
In April of last year, according to the prosecution, the teen followed Peters home, attacked her, strangled her, and then sexually assaulted her along a hiking trail.
Due to the overloaded court calendar and scarce resources, the case has been postponed for more than a year.
