
A Sheboygan residence exploded last night (August 1st) sending one person to the hospital.
According to Battalion Chief Chase Longmiller, the Sheboygan Fire Department was called to assist the Sheboygan Police Department at a residence where an individual was said to be having a mental health crisis.
Police officers were attempting to make contact with the individual who was locked inside, and others were working to secure the neighborhood when the home exploded.
Suppression actions were quickly taken, and paramedics provided advanced life-saving support on a woman who had exited the home after the explosion.
She was taken to a local hospital for treatment and was the only person to sustain injuries.
The building was deemed uninhabitable due to the damage caused by the explosion.
