The Green Bay Rockers bullpen collapsed last night as they blew a 3-1 lead and fell to the Madison Mallards 4-3.
It was a scoreless matchup at Capital Credit Union Park through 5 innings, but Madison would score first when Rocker starter Christian Foutch balked in a run.
Green Bay’s offense would strike back quickly, as three runners crossed home plate in the bottom half of the 6th.
Henry Chabot would come on for the home team in the 7th, but in the 8th, he gave up two runs to allow the Mallards to tie it up.
Then, in the 9th, with Michael Riley on the mound a single to center field would drive home the eventual game-winning run.
Jack Holman led the Rockers’ offense going 2-3, while Kelly Cooper’s lone hit drove in a pair.
Green Bay will look to rebound quickly in game two against the Mallards tonight.
Maddox Long will be on the mound against Tommy Meyer in a 6:35 p.m. start.
