The owner of the pickup truck hit by lightning in Slinger may want to consider buying a lottery ticket.
The Slinger Fire Department reported that around 8:00 a.m. Thursday morning, Chad Baumgartner’s truck was hit by a powerful bolt of lightning as a round of storms passed through the area.
The impact of the lightning was severe, melting the truck’s dashboard and creating a hole in the windshield.
Baumgartner believes his vehicle is beyond repair and is considered a total loss.
However, despite the unfortunate event, he expressed more astonishment at the rare occurrence than anger over the damage caused.
