The interim sheriff for Milwaukee County says he would have recommended two staff members be fired had they not resigned last week. Nancy Evans and Kashka Meadors are being investigated for their roles in the dehydration death of an inmate at the county jail. Sheriff Richard Schmidt says he is recommending that Deputy James Lee Ramsey-Guy be fired. Ramsey-Guy is accused of turning off the water to Terrill Thomas’ cell after Meadors gave the order. Thomas had flooded another cell in April 2016. Criminal charges have been filed against all three.
