For the second time this week, a plane crashed near Oshkosh as EAA AirVenture continues.
The Oshkosh Fire Department reports that the crash occurred east of the north-south runway at Wittman Regional Airport, the site of EAA, at around 7:45 a.m.
The plane was said to have lost power shortly after taking off and heading south.
The way it crashed resulted in the aircraft ending up on its roof.
The pilot, who is reported to be from southwestern Wisconsin, was the only person on board, and he was able to escape the wreckage unaided before being taken to a hospital.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the incident.
