The Green Bay Rockers’ offense was clicking yesterday as they used 10 hits to win 14-2 over the visiting Battle Creek Battle Jacks.
The Rockers would take a 3-0 lead into the 5th inning before Grayson Walker would give up a sac fly to break his shutout bid.
The Rockers would then add three runs in the 6th thanks to a bases-clearing double from Jo Jo Jackson.
The Jacks would respond in the 8th with a home run, but the Rockers’ bats came back with a vengeance.
Carlos Hernandez would crank a two-run blast, a run would score on a walk, Jayson Jones would clear the bases with a grand slam to right field, and two pitches later, Jack Holman would clear the same wall for a solo shot.
Bryce Crabb would go to the mound in the 9th and not allow a single baserunner to secure the team’s 5th straight win.
The Rockers are off for three days for the Northwoods League All-Star Break.
Six Rockers, four of whom are pitchers, will be representing the Great Lakes Division in the All-Star Game on Tuesday.
