The Wisconsin Timber Rattler batters had a field day in Dayton last night, tagging the Dragons’ pitchers for 16 hits en route to an 8-5 win.
The scoring started early, as the Rattlers would plate one run in both of the first two innings before adding two more in the 3rd.
After a scoreless 4th, the Rattlers exploded for four more runs in the 5th. However, that would be all the offense they could muster.
The Dragons attempted to mount a comeback, plating five runs between the 5th and 6th innings, but Karlos Morales and Shane Smith would slam the door shut, not allowing a single hit over the final three frames.
Cameron Wagoner picked up the win, going 5 innings while allowing 5 hits and striking out 8 batters.
At the plate, Ernesto Martinez went 4-5, Hendry Mendez went 3-5 including a two-run bomb, and four other batters notched two hits on the night.
The Rattlers and Dragons will square off again at Day Air Ballpark as Alexander Cornielle faces off against Jose Acuna.
First pitch in Dayton Ohio is scheduled for 6:05 p.m.
