A teenager who is accused of selling a large amount of drugs within the Green Bay school system was dealt a major blow of her own.
16-year-old Maylia Sotelo’s defense team had been trying to get her case moved into juvenile court, but that request was denied.
The prosecution noted that Sotelo was not only the largest dealer of narcotics in Brown County schools, but her drug bust was also one of the ten largest conducted by the Brown County Narcotics Task Force last year.
Sotelo was arrested after she was found to have delivered the drugs that killed an 18-year-old student.
The Drug Task Force was already investigating Sotelo at the time, but an additional tip from a friend of the victim led them back to her, so they set up a purchase, and arrested her.
Sotelo is due back in court on September on a charge o 1st Degree Reckless Homicide by the Delivery of Drugs as Party to the Crime.
