Once again, a judge has ruled against Mukwonago Schools’ bathroom gender policy, prohibiting its enforcement.
This week, a federal judge issued a preliminary injunction against the school district, following a temporary restraining order issued by the same judge last week.
The judge is currently deliberating on two cases, one from Kenosha and another from Florida, both involving transgender students and bathroom usage.
The Kenosha case ruled in favor of the student. In the context of Mukwonago Schools, a fifth-grade student had been utilizing the girls’ bathroom until a parent raised a complaint this year.
The school district’s stance is for students to use the bathroom corresponding to their biological sex.
However, the district has been legally prevented from enforcing this policy until a final decision is reached in the case.
