After a solid first half of the season, the Green Bay Rockers have hit a bit of a slump.
They fell at home to the Madison Mallards 6-5 marking their fourth consecutive loss. The Mallards scored twice in the 3rd, 5th, and 7th innings and held a 6-3 lead entering the 8th.
In that inning, the Rockers tried to mount a comeback, plating two runs, but a 1-2-3 9th inning ended the Rockers’ hopes.
Green Bay was able to scatter 7 hits on the night, including two from Carlos Hernandez, however, none of their hits went for extra bases.
On the mound, Brett Sanchez pitched 6 innings while allowing 4 runs on 5 hits and striking out 6 batters, and Michael Riley took the loss, hurling the final three frames and allowing 2 runs on 3 hits.
The Rockers will look to right the ship tonight again against the Mallards.
Kyle Stoddard will take the mound in front of a home crowd as he faces Will Simmons.
First Pitch at Capital Credit Union Park is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
