The ongoing strike at Leinenkugel’s brewery has taken a political turn as local Democrats in Chippewa County are now urging a solidarity boycott of Leinenkugel’s beer.
The strike began when just over 40 Teamsters at the Chippewa Falls plant walked off the job earlier this week.
The county’s Democratic Party called upon its members to refrain from purchasing Leinenkugel’s beer or any other products manufactured by Molson Coors until the strike reaches a resolution.
It’s worth noting that Molson Coors, the parent company of Leinenkugel’s, also owns other well-known brands such as Coors, Miller, Blue Moon, and more.
In response to the boycott, the brewery has stated that it has presented the striking workers with a competitive new contract.
