It was a return to dominance over the weekend as the Manitowoc County Mariners dispatched the visiting Fox River Raiders 43-0.
Mariners Coach Marcos Alfaro tells us Saturday was a career night for Adrian Abeyta, who rushed for 145 yards on just 9 carries.
That is an average of just over 16 yards per carry and was highlighted by a 55-yard touchdown run.
He also caught 4 passes for 54 yards.
And as if that wasn’t enough, Abeyta took over at quarterback, where he went 4 for 7 for 107 yards, including a 31-yard touchdown pass to Darius Campanella.
The win was the second in a row for the Mariners, who improved to 5-3 on the season with two games left.
Up next is their final regular season home game of the year, a Saturday evening matchup with the Brown County Blackjacks.
Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. this Saturday (July 15th) at Ron Rubick Municipal Field.
