High School Boys Basketball Pairings

Roncalli and Valders earned number-1 seeds yesterday for the upcoming Boys High School Basketball Tournament.  In division-4: the ‘Jets’ earn the top seed in the top half of their Sectional bracket and received a first-round bye next Tuesday the opening night of the Regional tournament.  Roncalli-(16-&-5) will host the winner of Ozaukee at Kewaunee on Friday night, March 2nd.  Howards Grove-At 20-and-2…slipped to the #2 seed after getting beat by #3 Kohler 48-45 Saturday night in the Big-East Conference tourney title game.  The Tigers will host the Algoma-Reedsville winner on March 2nd. Manitowoc Lutheran (14-&-8) gets the ‘5-seed’ and the Lancers have Mishicot at home next Tuesday. In division-3: the ‘Vikings’ (19-&-2) drew the top-seed in the lower half of the bracket, opposite Xavier, and Valders has an opening night bye.  The Vikings will host the Cedar Grove-Belgium/Brillion winner on March 2nd.  Two Rivers, with the 11th seed, will travel to Sturgeon Bay…a team the Raiders defeated in the regular season at the Kress Center…in the Regional opener next Tuesday night.  #12-Kiel plays at Denmark..#4 Sheboygan Falls plays host to Saint Lawrence Seminary, New Holstein-With the ‘2’ seed doesn’t have to play opening night & will meet the Chilton/Oostburg survivor….Southern Door draws the ‘3 seed and will host the TR’s/Sturgeon Bay winner.  And in Division-1:Manitowoc Lincoln (6-&-15) will travel to #4 Waukesha North….out of the Classic-8…on Friday-March 2nd.  As expected, Bay Port gets the #1 seed and hosts the play-in game winner between-Green Bay Preble & Sheboygan South at Acuity Fieldhouse.  By the way, the division-1 Sectional-Semifinals will take place at Lincoln High School’s JFK Fieldhouse on Thursday, March 8th.
