
The public is invited to celebrate the life of a local racing icon this weekend.
Tapped on the Lakeshore will be the site of the celebration of the life of James Schleis on Saturday (July 8th).
The man affectionately known as Jimbo passed away on June 19th at the age of 61.
He was a member of the racing circuit for 26 years and was given the name “Mr. Nice Guy”.
After retiring from racing Jimbo went to work for the Wisconsin International Raceway in Kaukauna.
He is survived by his girlfriend MaryBeth, his siblings Susan, Nancy, and Tim, as well as his pet Bama.
The celebration of Jimbo’s life will begin at 1:00 at Tapped on the Lakeshore, located at 3114 Memorial Drive, and will run until 5:00 p.m.
