In a final score more akin to football, the Green Bay Rockers took down the Wausau Woodchucks last night, 13-7.
The Rockers would come out of the gate swinging, as they plated three runs in the first inning, but the Woodchucks would respond in the second with three of their own.
The teams would go back and forth through the first 8 innings, with the Rockers knotting it up in the top of the 8th.
No runs were scored in the 9th forcing extra innings, and the 10th also was scoreless.
Then the bats really came alive for Green Bay, as they plated 7 runs, two of which came on a bases-clearing triple by Kendal Ewell.
The Woodchucks would tally one run of their own but could not complete the comeback.
Ewell, Blake Wilson, Jason Jones, and Cuyler Zukowski all notched two hits for the Rockers, while Kyle West went 3 for 6, and swatted home two runs and scored three times.
The Rockers return home tonight as they take on the Lakeshore Chinooks.
Cooper Dossett will take the mound for Green Bay as he faces Ryan Mullan in a 6:35 p.m. start at Capital Credit Union Park.
