
A former University of Wisconsin football player has a chance to avoid being charged with a crime.
Ismael Ozanne, the district attorney for Dane County, reports that 19-year-old Markus Allen has been admitted to the deferred prosecution scheme.
After allegedly discovering a stolen handgun in his backpack at the Mifflin Street Block Party, Madison police detained Allen and booked him into jail in April.
If he fulfills the county-imposed requirements, the DA claims he won’t be prosecuted.
Last week, the former Badgers wide receiver made plans to leave UW and use the transfer portal public.
