A large number of Manitowoc Public Utilities customers were without power for quite some time yesterday (June 26th).
MPU tells Seehafer News that in total, 3,161 customers were affected by the outage which stemmed from the Rapids substation.
The substation lost power because a cable faulted, but Electric Distribution staff were able to redirect customers to alternate sources of power, including another substation, as they worked on the problem.
In a statement, MPU said “We strive to provide reliable service and we are proud to be your public power utility. Our top priority is that our staff are safe and we appreciated your patience while we worked safely to restore power.”
