Two Rivers City Manager Greg Buckley
Municipalities are learning how much they will be getting from the recently passed shared revenue plan, and one local leader is excited.
Two Rivers City Manager Greg Buckley called the legislation “a big deal for Two Rivers” as they will be getting an additional $850,000 in state funds.
Buckley explained that prior to the deal, the city was getting $3.76 million from the state for Police, Fire, EMS, Public Works, Parks and Administration, which is roughly $200,000 less than in 2000.
The 22.5% increase equates to, according to Buckley, “a boost of 7.5 percent in total General Fund revenues–a welcome assist in meeting rising costs that have impacted the City.”
Buckley also thanked State Senator, Andre Jacque, and State Representative Shae Sortwell for supporting this legislation, and Governor Evers for “working with Legislative leadership to make this much-needed funding boost a reality.”
