The turkey season was busier in Wisconsin this year.
According to the state’s Department of Natural Resources, hunters harvested just over 42,000 turkeys during the spring hunting season.
That represents an increase of 7% from the five-year average.
The season for turkeys actually began on April 15 and continued through this month with a few breaks in between.
Applications for the upcoming turkey season opened to hunters in December of this year.
