Democrats are once again requesting new gun laws at the Wisconsin state capitol during the final few weeks of the spring session.
A number of legislators, including Madison state senator Melissa Agard, demanded that a vote be taken on a red flag law and a plan for universal background checks.
The new laws, according to Agard and the Democrats, will help keep people safe.
Republicans in the legislature have long opposed red flag laws and new background check laws, and they’re likely to do it again this year.
