A man was arrested in Manitowoc Sunday evening after he drove a moped on a sidewalk.
An officer was on patrol in the area of Buffalo and North 10th Streets when they reported hearing a loud exhaust coming up the road.
The officer turned to see a 25-year-old man riding a moped on the sidewalk, traveling south on North 10th Street.
The officer pulled the man over and told him he could not ride the vehicle on the sidewalk.
The man immediately become defensive, saying the officer had pulled him over because he had nothing better to do, and claimed it was due to his race.
The officer called for backup as the man became more and more agitated.
When backup arrived, they told the man he was under arrest, but he pulled away from the officers, leading to one pulling out a taser, but it was never used.
While handcuffed and seated on the ground, the man threatened to beat up the initial officer and that he was going to do things with his wife.
The man is now facing charges of issuing Threats to Law Enforcement, Obstructing an Officer, and Disorderly Conduct.
