The deal that will give them a half-billion dollars has pleased the people who represent local governments at the Wisconsin Capitol.
The shared revenue agreement was praised at the statehouse on Friday by the League of Wisconsin Municipalities, the Wisconsin Counties Association, and the Wisconsin Towns Association.
Local governments will finally receive the additional funding from the state they have been requesting for years.
The shared revenue plan will give local governments all over the state hundreds of millions of dollars for funding for police officers, firefighters, EMTs, and road projects.
According to the organizations, the funds will be used to fund “essential services that citizens will demand.”
