About 25% of the nation’s dairy comes from the state of Wisconsin and its thousands of locally-owned farms.
It’s no mystery why Wisconsin is nicknamed “America’s Dairyland”, but what about Manitowoc County itself?
Manitowoc County Ag Educator Angie Ulness tells us, “In our county, we have 153 producers that are licensed to ship milk. 57,000 cows and they produce almost the most milk in the whole state.”
One of the countless events that farms across Manitowoc County hold is Breakfast on the Farm.
This year, Twin Cities Vue Dairy is leading the event for the public to enjoy.
As for what guests can expect, Ulness said, “We’re going to have kid’s games, farm tours, free ice cream sundaes; but, of course, a very delicious breakfast.”
The breakfast will be held this Sunday, June 11th, from 8 am-noon at the farm’s location at 3416 Stone Road in Manitowoc.
Along with grilled cheese and cheese curds, omelets, ham, and sausage will also be served alongside the trademark drink—milk.
Tickets are $10 in cash only for ages 13+ and $5 for ages 5-12.
Any children younger than 4 years old are granted free admission.
