The Lac du Flambeau tribe has made it clear that a federal judge will not prevent them from obstructing access to and from their reservation.
The debate over money and access is currently going back and forth on the roads.
Last winter, the tribe closed the roads, cutting off a number of non-tribal residents and their residences from the Lac du Flambeau neighborhood.
At a hearing on Wednesday, Judge William Conley expressed his opinion that the tribe has sovereign immunity and significant control over the road.
There is currently no agreement on road payments between the tribe and the community.
