Outagamie County officials have publicly denounced a fellow supervisor for comments he made about transgender people using the restroom and changing rooms.
Tim Hermes, the supervisor, has come under fire for questioning the safety of letting “a man in a dress with a woman’s face on” enter fitting rooms or restrooms for women.
Tuesday, the county board voted 21-8 to reprove Hermes for his remarks.
The vote, according to County Board Chair Jeff Nooyen, is about Hermes’ “behavior at the board meeting” rather than his opinions or words.
