Rosemarie “Rosie” Bugs, 89, of Manitowoc passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at St. Mary’s Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center.
Rosie was born on January 21, 1934 in Manitowoc to the late Erich and Anna (Junk) Bugs. Rosie was a 1952 graduate of Lincoln High School. She furthered her education at Northwestern Institute of Medical Technology to become a Medical Lab Technician and was employed at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Chicago and Bernillio County Hospital in Albuquerque, NM. She then returned to Manitowoc in 1962 and worked at Holy Family Medical Center and the Manitowoc Clinic. She attended Silver Lake College, graduating Magna Cum Laude and was a substitute teacher at Lincoln High School. Rosie was an active member with the Green Bay Botanical Gardens, Master Gardeners of Green Bay and Manitowoc, State Master Gardeners, Woodland Dunes, BBB Bird Club of Manitowoc and a lifelong member of the Manitowoc and Two Rivers Senior Centers.
Rosie is survived by special cousins: Anne Gleichner, Jeanne Suess, and Carol Spiering, all of Manitowoc. She is further survived by her cousins, other relatives and many friends. Rosie was preceded in death by her parents: Erich and Anna (Junk) Bugs and her sister: Dorothy Ann Bugs, as well as many other relatives and friends.
Rosie has been cremated at All Care Cremation Center. Funeral services for her will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at St. Francis of Assisi Grand Site, 1416 Grand Ave., with Rev. Doug LeCaptain officiating the Mass of Christian Burial. Rosie will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery following mass.
Family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at the church from 9:30 am until the time of service at 11:30 am.
