Two Oshkosh children were able to avoid being injured in a tense situation in Oshkosh early Monday morning.
Officers were called to a residence in the 1100 block of South Main Street just after 12:00 a.m. on a report of a disturbance with a weapon.
It was reported that a man had been pointing a gun at people inside the home, including several children, and threatened to shoot them.
Two of the children had made their way onto a balcony and were lowered safely, but two infants remained inside.
SWAT and Crisis Negotiators were brought in, and after using a robot and drone to gain further information, SWAT entered the home.
They were able to find the man lying on an inflatable mattress with an unloaded handgun under his body.
The 35-year-old man was taken into custody with no injuries reported.
