A Sheboygan man is facing charges in Manitowoc after he allegedly sexually assaulted his grandchild.
The investigation into the 78-year-old man began on May 25th when the Manitowoc County Human Services Department filed a report with Child Protective Services on the situation.
The report noted a situation where the man was watching over the child, whose age was not given, and their two friends, and as they started to fall asleep, he entered the room.
He allegedly touched all three inappropriately but was not immediately reported.
One of the children told police they “felt bad” for not reporting it right away.
It was also reported that the man offered his grandchild vapes for sexual favors and had been doing so for an estimated three years.
Two counts of 1st Degree Sexual Assault of a Child and Sexual Intercourse with a Child Age 16 or Older, four counts of 4th Degree Sexual Assault, and one count of Exposing Genitals or Intimate Parts are being filed in Manitowoc County, with additional charges being referred to the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department as two offenses occurred at his home.
