The federal government should establish PFAS standards for drinking water, according to the attorney general of Wisconsin, so the state is not acting alone.
A-G Josh Kaul yesterday joined a letter to the EPA requesting the creation of federal PFAS contamination standards.
He asserted that everyone in the nation must feel secure when turning on the faucet.
There are no federal standards in place at the moment.
Therefore, each state is free to establish its own standards.
Wisconsin did so in February of last year, and as a result, many communities are discovering that their drinking water contains more chemicals than they initially thought.
