An officer with the Oshkosh Police Department has been deemed justified in an officer-involved shooting back in March.
According to police reports, the officer involved was said to be investigating a report of a stolen purse and car.
The suspect list was narrowed down to an individual who was recently released from jail, and the car was located.
It was unoccupied, so police kept an eye on it, waiting to see who would get in.
When the suspect got in the car, the officers parked their squad car behind it and approached.
It was at that point the driver put the stolen car in reverse and nearly struck an officer before pulling forward.
The officer, who was in front of the vehicle, let two shots ring out, one of which hit the suspect who then slammed the car into a light pole and a parked car.
First aid was administered until an ambulance arrived.
No names have been released, but the suspect is said to be jailed in Milwaukee awaiting a parole hearing.
