Appleton police responded to a bomb threat Monday, which was later determined to have been a hoax.
Officers closed off the 700 block of West Wisconsin Avenue at around 6:00 a.m. after receiving the threat.
A perimeter was established and a search of the building where the bomb allegedly was began.
Two K9 teams and the Appleton Drone team were also utilized in the investigation, but no explosives were located.
The scene was declared clear, and the threat was deemed not credible.
The Appleton Police Department said of the situation that while it was in fact a hoax, the department takes all threats seriously, and will always treat them as though they are a legitimate threat to public safety.
