Vincent J. Bast, age 77, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Friday, May 5, 2023 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center.
Vince was born on July 9, 1945 in Manitowoc to the late Vincent and Laura Ruth (Draheim) Bast. He graduated from Manitowoc Lutheran High School with the class of 1963. Vince had worked in the banking industry for over 40 years as a loan officer. In his younger years, he loved bowling. Later on in life, Vince liked getting out in the good weather and became an avid golfer. He enjoyed listening to music, watching football and grilling out on the weekends. Vince was a Packer and Brewer fan. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of First German Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Survivors include Vince’s two children, Brett Bast and his significant other, Wendy Kuchinski, Manitowoc; and Tammy Strzyzewski, Manitowoc; six grandchildren, Seth (Taylor), Alex (Victoria), Gina, Kera (Craig), Madelyn, and Sierra; two great grandchildren, Owen and Kalliope; two sisters, Jinny (Robert) Dill, Manitowoc; and Ruthie (Charlie) Indestad, Manitowoc; one brother, Chuck (Nancy) Bast, Manitowoc; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Vince was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Laura Ruth Bast; the mother of his children, Pamela Bast; son-in-law, Pete Strzyzewski; and his special friend, Kathie Soukup.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home with Rev. Jacob Hoff officiating. Cremation will follow with burial of Vince’s cremated remains to be held at Evergreen Cemetery at a later date. Following the funeral service, a luncheon for family and friends will be held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home.
