Pitching continues to be an issue for the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers as they fell for the third time this week to the Peoria Chiefs.
Stivin Cruz started on the mound for the Rattlers, but he only made it through one and one-third innings.
He gave up 5 hits and 7 runs, three of which came on home runs.
Luis Amaya came on to stop the bleeding, only giving up 2 more hits, but no more runs.
Three other pitchers combined to shut out the Chiefs the rest of the way.
Offensively, Jesus Chirinos got the scoring started for Wisconsin in the 6th with a two-run homer, and the comeback attempt continued in the 8th with a three-run moon shot from Je’Von Ward, but that was all they could muster.
The Rattlers and Chiefs will square off for game four tonight at Dozer Park.
First Pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. in Peoria Illinois.
