Two Rivers’ City Hall will be undergoing an HVAC renovation in the near future.
During their meeting on Monday, the City Council approved a contract with Schaus Mechanical in Manitowoc for the replacement of the HVAC control system in the building, which City Manager Greg Buckley tells us was installed 30 years ago.
“We have an old pneumatic control system, very much in need of replacement,” he explained. “We have had the heat turned off for the past three weeks, limping through this cold spring because of some difficulties with heat regulation in the building.”
This is the first major project since 1993 in the building which was first constructed in 1903 and was originally used as a school building.
Buckley tells Seehafer News that this project will “involve the replacement of controllers on both the hot water and air systems, new thermostats throughout the building, (and) a new automated control system.”
Buckley also said he and the council are excited to get “Schaus turned loose” on the $306,000 project later this year.
