The City of Manitowoc has announced that a portion of the Mariners Trail is now closed for a construction project.
The project will begin on Monday (May 8th) in the area between the Little Manitowoc River Bridge north to Reed Avenue but is being closed off this week so the Forestry Division can remove approximately 15 ash trees and a strip of woody vegetation on the north end of the construction area.
The trees are being removed to lessen the risk of damage to the newly paved trail and grading.
The project is expected to be completed on or by June 2nd.
