
The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers lost again yesterday to the Beloit Sky Carp 6-4.
Starting pitcher Stivin Cruz had a good outing, allowing one run on four hits while striking out 4 batters through five innings.
The Rattlers’ offense even gave him two runs in support, but the bullpen issues reared their ugly head once again.
Gus Verland came on in the 6th inning and gave up three runs on three hits while recording only one out.
Ryan Brady come on to finish out the 6th and 7th innings with no further damage, but Joey Matulovich would give up two more runs in the 8th before Brandon Jordan would end the game with no additional runs scored.
The Rattlers would bring in two more runs in the 9th but fell short in a comeback attempt.
At the plate, Darrien Miller, Jose Acosta, and Ernesto Martinez each went 2-3.
Acosta knocked in a run as well, while Martinez slapped in a pair. With the loss, the Rattlers fall to 7-11.
Game five between the Rattlers and Sky Carp will begin at 6:40 this evening at Fox Cities Stadium on Kids Run the Bases night.
