In Wisconsin, almost 13 million new trees were planted last year.
Friday saw an update to Governor Evers’ Trillion Trees proposal.
In 2022, according to the governor, more than 12.99 million trees were planted around the state, and more than 2000 acres of forested area were preserved.
Wisconsin will plant 75 million trees statewide by 2030, according to a proclamation made by the governor in 2021.
