In Wisconsin, graduating high school students may soon need to balance a checkbook.
This week, lawmakers in Madison will hold a hearing on a proposal to make it mandatory for all high school graduates to take a course in financial literacy.
Making sure students know more about things like credit cards and student loan debt is the goal.
Local schools are likely to object in some way since they don’t want the state legislature to impose yet another regulation.
