The Wisconsin State Capitol is considering a bill that would permit armed individuals to enter schools.
State Representative Scott Allen is urging legislators to support the proposal.
According to Allen, the goal is to give local school boards the freedom to decide how they will handle weapons in the classroom.
He claims that the request to alter Wisconsin’s concealed carry legislation came from the school board of Germantown.
Allen claims that his proposal would enable neighborhood schools to change the fact that they are “soft targets” for mass shootings.
Allen’s proposal is unlikely to be signed into law by Governor Evers, even if it passes the legislature.
