
A Manitowoc man was arrested over the weekend on his 4th OWI.
An officer with the Manitowoc Police Department was on patrol at around 1:30 a.m. Sunday when they noticed a vehicle swerving while driving east in the 2100 block of Marshall Street.
The officer began following the vehicle and noted that the driver swerved between the lanes multiple times.
The vehicle was pulled over near South 20th and Columbus Streets, and while making contact, the officer noted the smell of alcohol coming from within the vehicle.
The 39-year-old male driver admitted to having consumed alcohol that evening and complied with conducting a field sobriety test.
The officer noticed several additional signs of impairment, leading to the man’s arrest.
He was taken to a local hospital for a blood draw and was charged with his 4th OWI.
